Hello
I’m Lauren Sharples, a UK-based illustrator and printmaker. I recently completed an MA in Children’s Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art, and I’m currently part of the Picture Hooks mentorship programme, where I’m continuing to explore and develop my practice.
My work is very narrative-led, often inspired by nostalgic or funny moments from childhood. I love using expressive line work to bring out the warmth and real connection between characters. I usually work with traditional printmaking techniques and enjoy throwing in recycled materials - things like Tetra Pak and reused paper, to create textured, layered images.
